  • Recently, I have been appointed as an International Relations Officer, at Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS). In my daily duties, I closely work with Australian Tax Office (ATO) on the Vuvale Partnership program between Fiji and Australia, signaling commitment to closer cooperation, consultation and collaboration between the two nations.
  • I’m responsible for conducting research, analyzing and developing intelligence reports, fill forms and surveys and draft briefing papers and analysis reports. Also promoting the engagement through dissemination of information and supporting business units by documenting all international obligations and commitments, assisting in the facilitation and coordination of international meetings and events. In addition to that, I also ensure that collaborative partnership enquiries are successfully communicated to the international team as well as perform the liaison role for communication between regional and international organizations.

Payments Officer

  • I joined Bank of South Pacific (BSP), Fiji with their International Operations as a Payments Officer from 2015. In charge for processing transaction received from customers abroad, advising on the funds received, liaising with corresponding Banks on queries and arranging for payments being remitted.
  • Preparing and presenting Transaction Reports to other local Banks for their customers on funds being received by the Bank. I was required to fully perform the duties of an inward payments officer pursuing dealer’s advice and liaising with other local and international Banks on the payments being transmitted and remitted.
  • Effective management of payment processing via the Bank’s internal systems and SWIFT Alliance.
  • Responsible for completion of daily Nostro reconciliations and assist the Team Manager in performance of time critical payment investigations.
  • Assisting with the processing of Electronic payments requests and management of daily paper payment requests received. Check customer signatures against the customer mandates in Document Management System. Excellent understanding of payments operations message structure and responding positively to requests to share knowledge about own work.

Perform authorizations on Flexcube as required by and assisting the role of Supervisor/Manager. Monitoring of Nostro and Vostro accounts, processing of Clean Collections, providing consultation to banking queries and also attending to FX related queries and follow – ups for reimbursements.

  • As Operations and Treasury Support Officer of Bred Bank (Fiji) Limited, appointed in 2017 till June 2023, I was responsible of processing and clearing exchanges and posting domestically as well as local bank transfers, to provide operations support functions in a timely manner to our 6 branches located throughout Fiji.
  • I was also responsible for processing Telegraphic Transfers to our 18 different correspondent banks internationally via SWIFT Alliance.
  • Apart from my daily task, I also assisted in screening for our Risk and Compliance Team and identifying various compliance issues for rectification. Other important duties include, preparing complex technical and operational reports, and developing and recommending procedures to be used to manage and coordinate various account activities for the Retail Banking Teams.
  • In innovating and embracing new changes to periodically review procedures and systems within the Department for improvements and enhancements to ensure increase in productivity and efficiency. Process and authorize the all transactions in the absences of the Operations Support Supervisor.

  • In 2014, I had the opportunity to join the Bank of South Pacific (BSP) as call centers consultant. Call Center is often the first place bank customers call for immediate answers to questions regarding their checking and savings accounts, loan applications and credit cards.
  • It is the call center representative’s job to actively listen to, troubleshoot and resolve customer problems and concerns. Representatives are also responsible for identifying and escalating customer issues to the appropriate bank department, as well as executing banking transactions and cross-selling products or special promotions.
